This year, Maastricht is the pink city of the Netherlands. This means that lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders (LGBT) will show their pride by participating in different kinds of activities. The FNV also takes part in these activities, because everyone is welcome at the FNV! On Friday 19 June, the Netwerk Roze FNV (Pink FNV Network) organizes its yearly talk show “LGBTalks” in the Bonbonnière in Maastricht.
From 16.00 h, everyone is welcome to attend the talk show. After the opening, the host Petra Broekhuijsen will give the floor over to Mike Jackson (one of the founders of “Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, an English organization that supported the striking miners during the Thatcher government. The film of this story, Pride, has won a Bafta). After, Wensley Garden (gay and ex-pro football player), Willemijn da Campo (co-ordinator of the Transgender Centre Limburg) and finally, Leo Hartveld (director of the FNV) will share their story. All in all, it will be an extraordinary talk show in which the advantage of diversity on the labour market will play an important role. During the talk show, visitors can savour a bite and a drink with live music of the the “Steady Habits” played in the background. The LGBTalks is made possible by the students of LGBT Student Community Maastricht.
At LGBTalks, everyone is welcome but make sure to be on time since a big attendance is expected. The doors will open at 16.00 h and from 17.00 h to 18.00 h, the talk show will take place. After the talk show, you can stay and talk with other visitors.
